What is a cynic? Someone who know the price of everything, and the value of nothing. Oscar Wilde
Now that I have your attention, Imperial Tobacco, I would like to ask a few questions, okay? Why didn't you tell me that I would become seriously addicted to your cigarettes and would only consider quitting when I became seriously ill from smoking them? Why didn't you tell me after all these years of keeping you in six-figure (plus) salaries, you reward my loyalty with blackened, diseased lungs, a sick heart and not being able to breathe? Why didn't you tell me you care nothing about those of us who defended you and your product for so long now that we are dying because we smoked it - and what you really care about is hooking more kids today who are as gullible as we used to be? Why didn't you tell me lung cancer hurts this much? Just curious.

Health Canada scientists have concluded that your products are responsible for approximately 5% of all infant deaths, and are responsible for the deaths of approximately 63 baby boys and 42 baby girls in Canada each year. Based on your market shares, this would suggest that Imperial Tobacco's share of this death toll is 67 baby deaths (64% market share), Rothmans, Benson and Hedges is responsible for 22 baby deaths (21% market share) and JTI-Macdonald is responsible for 16 baby deaths (15% market share). In the three years since this Health Canada finding was published, a further 300 Canadian babies have died without your companies taking any voluntary measures to address this tragic issue. We note that you continue to ask the courts to strike down the government health warnings. We believe it is time that you acted more responsibly. In particular, we are calling on you to: admit that your products kill non-smoking Canadians, including babies; establish measures to reduce the number of babies who die as a result of the use of your products; apologize to the families who have suffered the loss of an infant which may have been attributable to the use of your products. Your early response is requested.
